Surgeon Pillichody, 74th Pennsylvania Regiment

Franz Pillichody
Franz Pillichody.

Franz Heinrick Pillichody, 1814-1874, an immigrant from Germany, was trained as a doctor in France. He set up a practice in Birmingham, on the south side of Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania. At the outbreak of the civil war he joined the Pennsylvania Infantry as a doctor, and later was appointed as Surgeon of the 74th Pennsylvania Regiment.
