Since 1945, eleven women representing Allegany County have gone on to win the title of Miss Maryland:

Joanna Guy, a graduate of Southern High School in Garrett County, was crowned Miss Maryland in June 2012. She is the second Miss Maryland from Garrett County, the first being Kimberly Ann Grimm Weimer in 1990.
